Intellectual Property Litigation
Richard Cowell is Of Counsel to Fabricant LLP. Prior to joining Fabricant LLP, Mr. Cowell was Of Counsel to Desmarais LLP, where he focused on patent litigation. He has litigated cases in numerous U.S. District Courts and the International Trade Commission, as well as in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Cowell has also represented clients in appeals before the both the Third and Federal Circuits.
Mr. Cowell has conducted numerous Markman hearings resulting in favorable claim constructions for his clients. He has also successfully argued dispositive and other motions. Additionally, he has attended bench and jury trials, and examined witnesses in District Court.
Mr. Cowell has both a B.S and M.S. in Computer Science and has obtained significant experience in a variety of technologies, including computer software and hardware, streaming, semiconductor, and mechanical products. Prior to attending law school, he worked for five years as an engineer, where he developed firmware for military radar applications.
